Caroline Walsh (Carly)


Carly is a Gynaecologist with a particular interest in Urogynaecology, the management of urinary incontinence and vaginal prolapse and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.

She also has an interest in general gynaecology including menstrual disorders, cervical screening, contraception, menopause and colposcopy.

Carly is from Ireland and obtained her primary medical degree with Honours at University College Dublin in 2005. She completed her specialist obstetrics and gynaecology training in Ireland working in centres of excellence in Dublin, Cork and Limerick. She moved to Melbourne in 2014 to pursue training In Urogynaecology in the Mercy Hospital for Women.  

She is trained in the management of urogynaecological and pelvic floor conditions having undertaken two years of Urogynaecology training at the Mercy Hospital for Women. After this Carly spent a year in Sydney training with Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre (SWEC) to gain further expertise in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. 

Carly is a believer in informed patient choice and works to meet each of her patient’s individual needs and wishes. 

In addition to her private practice, Carly has a public appointment as an Obstetrician Gynaecologist in the Mercy Hospital for Women and Werribee Mercy Hospital.  When not at work she can be found spending time with her children, partner and their rescue dog.
